Candle Safety Guidelines
Safe candles = happy vibes. Follow these simple rules every time you light your Blue Fawn candle.
Placement & Setup
- Burn on a flat, heat-safe surface away from edges.
- Keep away from drafts, curtains, and vents.
- Never near flammable items; clear a 12″ radius.
- Out of reach of kids and pets.
Lighting & Burn Time
- Trim wick to ¼″ before every light.
- First burn: allow a full melt pool edge-to-edge.
- Do not burn more than 4 hours at a time.
- Stop use when ~½″ of wax remains.
While Burning
- Stay within sight—never leave a candle unattended.
- If flame smokes or flickers, extinguish, trim, and relight.
- Keep the wax free of matches/wick trimmings.
Extinguishing
- Use a snuffer or gently blow out—no splashing wax.
- Let wax cool and solidify before moving the candle.
Common Questions
Why is my candle tunneling? Likely a short first burn or drafts. See Candle Tunneling Fixes.
Is soot normal? A little can happen—trim to ¼″ and avoid drafts for a cleaner burn.
Can I reuse the jar? Yes! Once fully cooled and empty, clean remaining wax and repurpose.
