Creator Terms: the real deal, in plain English
These terms cover the Blue Fawn Creator Program. By checking the box when you sign up, you're agreeing to them. We kept them short on purpose. If anything's unclear, just ask us.
"We," "us," and "Blue Fawn" mean Blue Fawn Candle Company. "You" means the creator joining the program.
1Joining the program
- You must be at least 18 and able to accept PayPal payments.
- Every application is reviewed by a real person. We approve creators whose audience is a good fit for Blue Fawn, and we may decline any application.
- Keep your account info (especially your email and PayPal) up to date. Program updates go to the email on your account.
2How you earn
- You earn commission on qualifying sales made through your personal link or your personal code. The current rate is shown on the Creator Hub (currently 15%).
- Commission is calculated on what the customer actually paid for products, after discounts, not including shipping or taxes.
- Your link tracks for 30 days after someone clicks it, and credits you for the first order they place in that window.
- Your code credits you whenever a customer uses it at checkout, with or without your link.
- If more than one creator's link or code is involved in a sale, the commission goes to the creator whose code was used, or otherwise the most recent link clicked.
3Your audience code
- Your code gives your audience a discount (currently 10% off their first order of $25 or more). Code rules, like minimums and one use per customer, are set by us and may change.
- Your code is for your audience. Share it in your posts, captions, stories, bio, videos, and with friends.
- Don't post it on coupon, deal, cashback, or "promo code" websites, or anywhere designed to collect codes. If your code ends up on one of those sites, we may replace it with a new one. Sales from coupon sites don't earn commission.
4What doesn't count
No commission is earned on:
- Your own purchases through your own link or code, including orders you place for someone else.
- Orders that are cancelled, refunded, or returned. Partially refunded orders earn commission on the amount kept.
- Sales from paid search ads that bid on "Blue Fawn" or similar terms. Please don't run those.
- Sales from coupon or deal sites (see section 3).
- Anything we reasonably believe is fake, fraudulent, or an attempt to game the system.
5Getting paid
- We pay monthly via PayPal, with no minimum. Approved sales from each month are paid by the last day of the following month. So October's sales are paid by November 30. That gap gives returns time to come in.
- Before your first payout, we'll ask for a W-9 (or the equivalent tax form), which we keep private.
- You're an independent creator, not an employee. You're responsible for your own taxes on what you earn.
- If we overpay by mistake (for example, an order is refunded after payout), we may subtract it from a future payout.
6Say it's an ad
US law (the FTC's endorsement rules) requires you to tell your audience when you earn money from a brand. So for every post about Blue Fawn:
- Disclose clearly and up front, like #ad, #BlueFawnPartner, or "I earn commission if you use my code." Don't bury it in a pile of hashtags or behind "more."
- Use the platform's built-in paid partnership label when it has one.
- In videos, say it out loud too, not just in the caption.
- Share your honest opinion. Don't say you've used a scent you haven't.
7Keep it safe and keep it real
- Candle safety on camera: no lit candles left unattended, near curtains or bedding, within reach of kids or pets, or burning in ways our safety guidelines say not to.
- No health claims. Our candles smell like a good mood. They don't treat anxiety, sleep problems, or anything else. Don't say they do.
- Don't post hateful, explicit, violent, or illegal content alongside Blue Fawn.
- Don't present yourself as Blue Fawn or speak for us. Don't create accounts, usernames, or domains using our name.
8Your content
- You own what you create. Shoot it your way, in your space.
- By joining, you let us repost or share your Blue Fawn posts on our own social media, always with credit to you. If you ever want a repost taken down, tell us and we'll remove it.
- We won't use your content in paid ads, email marketing, or on product pages without asking first. That's paid UGC, covered by a separate agreement that includes payment.
- You can use our product photos, logo, and candle names to talk about Blue Fawn. Please don't edit our logo or use our assets for anything else.
9Bonuses and perks
- Bonus tiers (like All That and Off the Hook) and their current requirements are listed on the Creator Hub. We check progress on a regular schedule and reach out when you've earned a perk.
- Only qualifying sales (sections 2 to 4) count toward bonuses.
- Paid UGC is invite-only. Reaching a tier makes you eligible for an invite. It doesn't guarantee paid work.
- Free product is shipped to a US address you provide when you earn it.
10Changes and ending things
- We may update these terms, commission rates, codes, or perks. For anything that affects your earnings, we'll email you at least 14 days before it takes effect. If you keep participating after that, you're agreeing to the update.
- You can leave anytime. Just let us know.
- We can end your participation anytime. If it's because you broke these terms (for example, coupon-site posting, self-purchases, or undisclosed ads), unpaid commission tied to that behavior may be forfeited.
- If you leave or we part ways for any other reason, we'll still pay commission on qualifying sales made before the end date, on the normal schedule.
11The legal bits
- You and Blue Fawn are independent parties. This isn't employment, a partnership, or a joint venture.
- Our total responsibility to you under this program is limited to the commission you've earned and haven't been paid yet.
- You're responsible for your own content and for following the laws and platform rules that apply to you.
- How we handle your info (including your PayPal email and tax forms) is covered in the "Creator Program" section of our Privacy Policy.
- These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Texas, USA.
- These terms, plus the program details on the Creator Hub, are the whole agreement between us about the Creator Program. Paid UGC deals are covered separately.
